Local Attractions
Puerto de la Duquesa really is the Costa del Sol's best-kept secret. It is one of the most attractive marinas in the area with mooring facilities for around 320 yachts & boats. The attractive walkways & courtyards around the port offer a wide variety of good restaurants, bars & cafés plus a small selection of shops, banks etc. The port regularly hosts a Craft Market, which is equally popular with holidaymakers & locals. Why not take a leisurely stroll along the prom to the Spanish village of Sabinillas where you will find a further selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, miles of unspoilt beaches & a lively local market. The local La Duquesa Golf & Country Club is a championship 18 hole course (designed by Robert Trent Jones) with stunning views overlooking the Med, Gibraltar & North Africa.

Polo - There's nowhere better to see a game than the famous Rio grounds, dubbed the 'Wimbledon of polo pitches’ in Sotogrande.
Waterskiing – ‘Cable Ski Marbella’ in San Pedro is great for learning to waterski or for those wanting to improve. The cable system pulls skiers around a lake and can be set at different speeds for children and beginners.
Dolphin and whale watching - The Bay and Straits of Gibraltar have a large population of Dolphins and Whales. There are boat trips from La Linea, Gibraltar and Tarifa where you can see dolphins bow-riding alongside the boats.
Windsurfing – Take a trip to Tarifa for the best windsurfing and kiting but Alcaidesa and La Linea also offer many watersports.
North Africa – Take a day trip to Tangier (Morocco) from Estepona, Gibraltar, Algeciras or Tarifa, or stay overnight. Hunt and haggle for bargains in the souk and colourful bazaar.
